Vincent Meets Rembrandt – Norderkerk (Amsterdam)

Reference overview

Vincent Meets Rembrandt – Norderkerk (Amsterdam)

Despite their apparent differences, the works of two masters, Rembrandt van Rijn and Vincent van Gogh - one a representative of the Dutch Baroque, the other a celebrated 19th-century Post-Impressionist painter - have unexpected similarities: The project "Vincent meets Rembrandt: the Untold Story" features images of the two grand masters as projections, cast directly into the ancient walls of the Noorderkerk. A historic church that here becomes a constantly changing 360-degree canvas. The story is told of how Vincent van Gogh developed a deep fascination with Rembrandt during his time in Amsterdam and how the great master's paintings, etchings and views inspired Vincent's work. The multimedia installation "Vincent meets Rembrandt" can be seen in Amsterdam and was completely equipped with Fohhn audio technology. It’s a 360degrees Immersive Projection using 38 projectors (4KUHD resolution), 6 VIOSO mediaservers and a 16 channel Fohnn Sound system with Fohhn Beam Steering Technology (12 x DLI-130 and 5 x XS-22). Everything has been wireless connected and automated.
