Scalable, modular system solution

Beam Steering for Concert Sound

Fohhn is presenting a modular, scalable beam steering line array system for concert halls, stadiums and arenas: Focus Venue.

Flying in straight lines – there are no mechanical curves. The dispersion can be adjusted in real time via software and precisely adapted to the individual acoustic requirements.

A technical revolution from Fohhn, the pioneer in the Pro Audio Beam Steering technology. Combined with the high-performance PS-800 and PS-850 subwoofers, the DI system amplifiers and sophisticated accessories, this is a powerful concert sound system with outstanding sound quality and maximum flexibility.

Focus Venue

The future of the line array is straight

Curving an array is not only difficult to do, it is also limiting. Focus Venue gives you flexibility.

The straight array not only enables perfect visual integration next to the stage, it also offers variable dispersion that can be adapted to the individual sound requirements. Is the venue only filled to half capacity, or full to the brim? No problem - with Fohhn Beam Steering Technology, you simply adjust the dispersion behaviour with the mouse wheel in the Fohhn Audio Soft. And in real time.

The next evolution of the line array and beam steering technology

The FV-100 active high frequency module and the FV-200 low-mid module come with integrated high-quality DSP amplifiers. For beam steering, each driver is fed a separate signal. The signal processing algorithms for this clever technology is constantly improved by the Fohhn development team.

„Focus Venue combines the sound and performance of a traditional line array with the flexibility and precision of a vertical beam steering system. The side-lobe-free mode and the cardioid technology allow previously unavailable control of your sound and thanks to the scalability of Focus Venue, it’s always the perfect system whether you’re playing in a club or an arena.“

Fohhn Beam Steering Technology

Precise dispersion control

Use the Fohhn Beam Steering Technology to steer the sound.

  • Convenient real-time control of vertical dispersion with Fohhn Audio Soft
  • Vertical beam width: 0° to 90°, sound inclination angle: -40° to +40° (adjusted in 0.1° increments)
  • Acoustic centre displaceable over the entire line length
  • Fohhn Two Beam Technology (two independent dispersion beams)
  • Option for asymmetrical beams

Anything is possible with this system.

Focus Venue

Flexibility thanks to scalability

The FV-100 high frequency modules and FV-200 low-mid modules can be flexibly combined with each other. Up to 10 modules can be flown together on a single pick, which are conveniently linked to each other with the Fohhn Interlock System.

PS-850

Combination options with vertical sub-arrays

The PS-800 and PS-850 high-performance subwoofers are perfectly suited to various sub-arrays and cardioid arrangements.

Good neighbours – side by side

High- and low-mid frequency modules can be mounted or installed right next to each other. Undesirable crosstalk of the different frequency ranges is avoided due to the steep slope of 48 dB/octave.

Beam steering: full range!

The Focus Venue and PS-850 subwoofer arrays are visually and acoustically compatible. They form a perfect beam steering system that covers the entire frequency range.

180° sound

The systems are flown next to each other in a very tight space, as there is no mechanical curving.

360° sound

360° sound in the tightest of spaces is possible, as there is no mechanical curving.

Mechanical pre-tilting possible

The flown Focus Venue systems can be mechanically tilted by up to 40° if the acoustic situation demands this. The integrated inclination sensor shows the actual angle.

Stack your PA

Focus Venue systems can be safely and quickly stacked.

Clean edge

Seamless integration into LED walls without mechanical curving. This means the line of sight is kept clean and little space is needed.

Seamless integration

Focus Venue systems can be integrated almost invisibly into stage portals due to the straight arrangement of the modules.
