Abu Dhabi International Airport

The 742,000 m² airport in Abu Dhabi has a butterfly floor plan with a central body and four wings forming the gates. Honeywell served as the system integrator for the project and turned to German loudspeaker manufacturer Fohhn for its expertise in precise sound reinforcement.

More than 260 Fohhn Beam Steering Systems of varying lengths are installed throughout the central body. DLI-430 and DLI-230 from the Linea Focus series impress with Fohhn Beam Steering Technology. The result: outstanding sound and excellent speech intelligibility, even in rooms with long reverberation times and reverberant surfaces. The line source speakers can be installed without mechanical tilting and can be integrated discreetly. The addition of a fully customized fibre optic interface has created a complete package that is the ideal solution for such a large-scale project. A ring typology ensures that a redundant system is available in the event of an emergency. The visual result is also impressive, as all 260 speakers were custom-made in special RAL colors and lengths thanks to Fohhn Customizing.
