The news of his sudden death has hit us deeply and saddens us immensely.

Ralf was an extraordinary person whose passion for sound shaped countless live shows and led many sound reinforcement projects to success. As a long-standing member of the Fohhn family, he was not only an indispensable expert and reliable guardian of our SoundLab, but also a loyal soul - a person who enriched our everyday life with his fine sense of humor, his thoroughness and his warmth.

Long before he started working for Fohhn, he got to know the two Fohhn board members Jochen Schwarz and Uli Haug at a major Christian music festival in 1988, and we have remained in close contact over the years. Even back then, Ralf stood out as an absolute audio freak who always used the latest sound technology and was always looking for the best possible sound. He worked with many well-known international artists, such as Frank Zappa, and was responsible with B&R Medientechnik for the optimal live sound or broadcast sound for the largest German TV productions.

In 2009, we offered him the opportunity to use our new Beam Steering audio technology live on a demanding church tour with Heino. He said: “Of course, why not?” He provided excellent sound reinforcement for 25 church concerts in Europe and set a new standard for modern church sound reinforcement at the time. From then on, we worked closely together on an international level for over 15 years and Ralf became a valued member of the Fohhn family. As a volunteer, he was also a guarantee for the best sound quality at church festivals, for the band ZisDur, the choir Lichtstrahlen, the vocal band Some Voices or the alphorn techno artist Loisach Marci.

We will greatly miss his knowledge, his commitment and his friendly manner. Our thoughts are with his daughter Dana and his sister Birgit, as well as everyone who was close to him.

A memorial service for Ralf will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the SoundLab at Fohhn, Großer Forst 15, 72622 Nürtingen. All friends and acquaintances are cordially invited. Please register at info@fohhn.com and let us know if you plan to contribute music or words.

The urn burial in the family grave will take place in a small circle in Siegen at a later date.

In gratitude and silent remembrance,
the entire team of Fohhn Audio AG
