Bambi Awards, Baden-Baden (Germany)

All the stars and starlets of the German media and film industry come together for the Bambi Awards. In 2019, the live show was broadcast for the first time from the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, Germany’s largest opera house, with 2,500 seats. National and international stars such as presenter Frank Elstner, actress Naomi Watts and Nobel Peace Prize winner Nadia Murad were honoured. B&R Medientechnik was commissioned to install the Focus Venue System for the sound reinforcement in the hall.

As the main PA, two FV-200 low-mid modules and two FV-100 high frequency modules were hung to the left and right of the stage. The Fohhn Beam Steering Technology of this system offers several advantages: first, it enables to fly Focus Venue straight. Mechanical curving is therefore no longer necessary, which means that the speakers are integrated almost invisibly into the stage design. And despite of this the dispersion behaviour can be adjusted very precisely to the audience, which not only leads to excellent speech intelligibility, but also to a clean sound for TV. In addition, the main PA was sufficient to cover the entire hall and no delay line was required.
