In 2021, Fohhn was already awarded "Industry Member of the Year" for its sustainable approach. This year, Fohhn won the community voting of the most sustainable product with Hybrid-1. At the award ceremony in Hamburg, colleagues from the team were handed the trophy.
With Hybrid-1, Fohhn has developed a sustainable audio system that is perfect for small conference rooms and classrooms as an entry-level media technology product. Hybrid-1 proves that pro audio products for more price-sensitive projects can be responsibly manufactured in Germany. The compact active loudspeaker impresses with efficient coverage of the entire room and natural speech reproduction. When it is not in use, it switches to a standby mode with minimal consumption.
The product, including a digital amplifier and signal processors, was developed 100% by Fohhn in Nürtingen, Germany, and is also manufactured there at the company's KfW-55 classified building. Supplier parts are largely sourced from the region. 75% of suppliers are located within a radius of less than 300 km. Fohhn is aware of its environmental impact and is working to reduce it. Fohhn is working with Nürtingen University of Applied Sciences and Reutlingen University to accurately determine and optimize the product's carbon footprint.
Hybrid-1 is built for maximum durability and 100,000 hours of operation and comes with a 5-year warranty. It has been developed to be service-friendly and repairable and follows the Design for Circularity. This guarantees the separability of the materials.
