The Future of the Line Array ... has begun

A review of the Fohhn Beam Steering Summit and Focus Venue product launch .

The recent Fohhn Beam Steering Summit - an official product launch event held at the Studios de France in Paris – was a resounding success: The Fohhn team has been delighted by the response of its guests to the new Focus Venue and is proud to see the system already being hailed as a new, pioneering concert sound line array concept with Beam Steering technology.

The summit began on the Monday evening, in TV-Studio 210, with an exclusive presentation of the brand new product and a “get together” with some excellent catering for approximately 100 invited international guests. Next, Fohhn Audio board members Jochen Schwarz and Uli Haug officially greeted the guests and gave a brief historical outline of the company’s vision to become the “World Number 1” in Beam Steering technology. This was followed by an exciting and detailed presentation – complete with sound reinforcement examples – from sound engineer Christian Bollinger, who introduced everyone to the technical refinements of the Focus Venue system. It was then the turn of renowned British sound engineer Chris Madden, who demonstrated some of the live tracks recorded a few weeks earlier during Anastacia’s “Music Loves Fashion” live show at the E-Werk in Cologne (where Focus Venue systems were used).

The feedback to all this was highly positive throughout. Some guests were already familiar with Fohhn Beam Steering products. Others were astounded at the outstanding acoustic performance and the range of possibilities offered by Focus Venue.

On the following Tuesday and Wednesday, coinciding with the JTSE trade show, further product presentations and demonstrations were held in the same TV studio. Each day, from 10.00 to 18.00, several hundred interested visitors had an opportunity to experience the entire range of Fohhn Beam Steering systems “live” – from Linea Focus and Focus Modular, through to Focus Venue.

Fohhn would like to thank everyone for the interest shown and for the praise given to the new concert sound systems.
