All in Nice: Fohhn Concert Sound at 185 metres!

At the Fête de la Musique grand concert in Nice, around 65,000 revellers enjoy sound reinforcement from the latest line array systems with Fohhn Beam Steering Technology.

On 21st June, the whole of France once again celebrated the famous annual music event, “Fête de la Musique“. This year’s Grand Concert took place in Nice: under the motto “Tous á Nice” (All in Nice), the southern French city invited everyone to a huge stage show, which was broadcast live by TV channel France 2. On the 185-metre long Place Masséna, around 65,000 visitors enjoyed live performances from both French and international musicians including Amir, Sting and Shaggy.

Fohhn Partner Daniel Borreau from Rock-Audio Distribution was once again on board, having been involved with the “Fête” in Toulouse two years ago. As in Toulouse, two Focus Modular systems formed the main stage PA in Nice. The ca. 10-metre long modular Fohhn Beam Steering systems were suspended – almost invisibly – to the left and right of the stage, covering the first 60 metres.

Delay lines for the rear section of this enormous audience area consisted of two straight flown Focus Venue Beam Steering line arrays, along with PT-70 full-range loudspeakers. These covered the remaining 125-metre distance.

We congratulate all participants on this impressive show.
