Award-Winning: Fohhn Beam Steering For The Premios As Del Deporte

Focus Modular systems in action at sports personality awards in Madrid.

On 4th December 2017, Madrid’s Palacio de Cibeles played host to the annual “Premios AS del Deporte” – a sports personality awards ceremony sponsored by the Spanish daily sports newspaper AS. This 50th Anniversary Gala saw several Spanish “sporting greats” honoured, including tennis star Rafael Nadal. Prizes were presented by the King and Queen of Spain.

The event venue - the palace’s Crystal Gallery – is regarded within industry circles as something of an acoustic challenge. As a result, system / sound engineer Alberto Liras, who was responsible for the event audio, opted for Fohhn Focus Modular systems with electronically steerable beam dispersion characteristics. Two arrays were used, each comprising an FM-400 low-mid module and an FM-110 high frequency module.

Liras’ conclusion: “The Focus Modular system is both incredibly unobtrusive and aesthetically pleasing. It has a quick and easy-to-use rigging system. Its exceptional vertical beam dispersion makes Focus Modular an ideal solution for venues with difficult acoustics. The system can achieve extremely satisfactory results – thanks to easy control via Fohhn Audio Soft software, its Beam Steering technology and its DSP control. All these factors made the adjustment of frequency and level in the audience area really simple to carry out. As a result, outstanding speech intelligibility and music reproduction quality was achieved.”

Fohhn Distributor Neotécnica supported the event, together with rental company Fluge Audiovisual, offering comprehensive Focus Modular training beforehand.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in this successful event.
