The future of the line array – live in Creberg Theatre

Fohhn’s brand new Focus Venue system delivers a perfect rock sound at Bergamo’s ”Concert of the Stars”.

On 23rd September, the city of Bergamo in Lombardy, Italy, played host to the “Concert of the Stars”. The charity event, organized by the Accademia della Guardia di Finanza in collaboration with Radio Italia Solo Musica Italiana, featured performances from a number of Italian artists including the musician and songwriter Umberto Tozzi, rock singer Marco Masini, pop singer Noemi and the band Le Vibranzioni. The purpose of the event, which was also recorded for Italian TV, was to raise funds in support of the non-profit Organisation Polisportiva Bergamasca ONLUS: an organisation that promotes, among other things, sport for the disabled. The event took place in Bergamo’s Creberg Theatre, the city’s largest theatrical venue, which has a seating capacity of 1526.

Responsibility for concert sound reinforcement fell to Sound Service from Castel Rozzone. On this occasion its proprietor, Angelo Pellicciolli, opted for a power solution from Fohhn: Focus Venue. The brand new line array system, equipped with state-of-the-art Fohhn Beam Steering technology and Convertible Dispersion Technology (CDT), is globally unique in its ability to deliver optimum live sound in venues of all sizes.

For the main PA, two Focus Venue arrays were installed, each consisting of two FV-100 high frequency modules and two FV-200 low-mid modules.

For monitoring, eight XM-4 systems were placed on stage, with two Linea LX-601 systems – hidden in the stage portal – serving as side fills.

For powerful bass coverage, six PS-9 subwoofers were installed in two cardioid stacks near both sets of stage steps.

After the show, Pellicciolli was more than delighted with the new Fohhn line arrays. Whether for sound quality, performance or handling – for him Focus Venue is “the future of the line array”.

We would like to thank Sound Service and Kennell Digital Distribution for using our loudspeaker systems and congratulate everyone on this fantastic show.
