Weatherproof Design

When speaker systems are installed outdoors, they must withstand all weathers. From heavy rain to sandstorms – many weather conditions can damage speakers. Water or dirt must not enter the system. This requires a special design of the connections, the electronics, the chassis and the enclosure. Fohhn has put a lot of effort into the weatherproof products and offers these features: waterproof connection terminals, specially coated circuit boards, speaker cone impregnation, weatherproof aluminium enclosures and polyurethane coatings including UV protection. This ensures optimum protection of the audio sytems at all times. The weatherproof-certified products of our Voice Alarm series comply with protection class IP54 according to IEC 529 / EN 60529.
